When choosing a network camera, it is recommended to confirm your requirements in the following order:

1. resolution: For general monitoring, 1 million to 2 million pixels is enough; when it is necessary to recognize license plates and faces, it is recommended to use more than 2 million pixels.
2. lens focal length: The larger the focal length, the farther you can see and the narrower the field of view. A wide angle of 2.8-4mm is suitable for corridors, and a telephoto lens of 8mm or above is suitable for road bayonet.
3. night vision distance: Indoor 5-10 meter dot matrix infrared models are optional; outdoor walls and perimeters are recommended to use 50-80 meter infrared waterproof models.
4. Protection level: For outdoor use, IP66 or above waterproof grade must be selected, and attention should be paid to the installation of brackets and waterproof connectors.
5. Power supply method: When the points are dispersed, PoE power supply is preferred to reduce wiring costs.

If the scene is severely backlit (such as entrances and exits, tunnel entrances), be sure to choose an ultra-wide dynamic range (DPS/WDR) model, otherwise faces and license plates will easily be overexposed and turn white.
