Does remote viewing require port mapping?
Currently, mainstream network cameras support P2P (cloud penetration) technology:
- The camera only needs to be connected to an Internet-enabled router, and the camera can be viewed remotely by scanning the code on the mobile APP or entering the device ID. There is no need for a fixed public IP address or port mapping on the router.
- If the project requires access to a self-built monitoring platform, port mapping or VPN needs to be configured. It is recommended that the network administrator set up unified settings and perform security reinforcement.
- For security reasons, be sure to change the device's default password and regularly upgrade the firmware to fix known vulnerabilities.
